"MyWay is the smartcard ticketing system used to pay for travel on Transport Canberra bus and light rail services right across the Australian Capital Territory / Canberra. Tap on and tap off to pay your fare. Register your MyWay card to protect your travel balance if your MyWay card is lost, stolen or damaged; and to check your travel balance online."

How to purchase MyWay ?

Step 1:

In Canberra, more than 35 recharge dealers issue standard (adult), tertiary, concession, and student MyWay cards.

Step 2:

Online: Fill out the basic MyWay application (for adults) or the student MyWay application (allow up to 7 days for postage; postage charges apply).

Step 3:

If you purchased your MyWay card online, it was automatically registered at the time of purchase. For standard (adult), tertiary, and student MyWay cards, call 13 17 10. Allow up to 7 days for postage; postage charges apply.

How to use MyWaycard ?

MyWay cards must be tapped on and tapped off the MyWay card readers when traveling. MyWay card readers are located at Transport Canberra buses' front and rear entry passages.

Suppose you are traveling on the light rail. In that case, you are required to tap on the ticket validator located at each light rail platform before boarding and to tap off the ticket validator when alighting before leaving the light rail platform.

Required documents for MyWaycard
